How the project came to us

We met the co-creator of the project through a mutual connection. He said they were working on a clothing line inspired by their NFT characters but were having trouble finding manufacturers who could provide the level customization and quality they were looking for. They were not satisfied with the designs and samples that were given to them by other manufacturers so they looked to us.

Project
Brief

Design a 20 piece contemporary collection with certain pieces directly inspired by the NFT artwork. They gave us some direction as far as silhouettes, and materials, but needed help deciding on styles, customizations, colors, labels, trims, etc. They asked us to make a collection that we would actually want to wear and felt on trend.

Techpack

We wanted to make a hoodie that felt more customized to their brand, rather than just printing their artwork, we wanted to incorporate it into the piece itself. We started by taking their crown icon and using that shape to make the back yoke. We then made custom aglets and eyelets. This hoodie also includes hidden quarter inch welt pockets. For that ¼ inch welt, we used their city skyline artwork. In order to execute this we did an all overprint of their artwork on cotton jersey fabric, then cut on the bias to allow flexibility and then we used that to make binding tape for the welt.
This piece incorporates their nighttime city skyline artwork that we deconstructed to look like the artwork was spray painted on leaving behind blotches and missed spots. In order to execute this piece, we would have to size and orient the artwork specific to each panel, then we would have to use a rotary printing technique to apply the artwork, then sew the garment together.
These pieces were heavily inspired by their NFT character artwork. The burgundy polo is directly pulled from a character. We then wanted to make 2 other variations that showcase the brand further. The collars feature contrast stripes, and we play with that contrast further by making the sleeve hem contrast.
This piece involves dual materials, Sherpa and ripstop nylon. We made the sleeves removable as per requested using snap buttons. The inside of the the vest was lined with their city skyline artwork. We added the rubber patch on the back. We used a gold custom zipper pull. We added a minimal crown embroidery to the chest and left the main label patch on the outside pocket.
These pants showcase their brand in various ways. From the rhinestone crown icon on the front, to the logo embroidery and rubber patch on the waistband, we incorporated all these elements. We also included contrast stitching to play off the other styles.
We also designed these accessories. This crossbody bag is constructed using the silhouette of their character logo. The bag would be made from a waxed canvas material. The bag would be lined with structural inserts in the shape of the panels.

Results

We put together a full 20 piece collection, along with variations of each style to show additional capabilities and offerings we could fulfill, totalling 46 unique items. We presented them with labels, trims and accessories as well.
